Mission and Vision

Mission

To make all out efforts for providing quantitative, qualitative and holistic, general, technical and informal higher education to our students so as to make them job-worthy, socially sensitive, complete individuals and good citizens of this country.

Keeping in tune with the changed vision, college has tried to increase its academic ambience, infrastructure facilities, teaching learning activities, research activities, personality development activities, skill enhancing facilities etc… as per the recommendations made by the NAAC committee that visited college in 2004.

Number of courses has been increased both at UG and PG level. At UG level, new courses like B.Sc IT, B.Com in Banking and Insurance have been introduced. Both courses are unaided and self financing. Separate office has been created for unaided courses by recruiting necessary teaching and non-teaching staff. Two new courses at PG level have been introduced i.e. M.A (Economics) and M.A (English).College has also started remedial coaching programme with UGC assistance. Recently, college has started a new specialized programme for imparting literary skills in English language to our first year students.

College library has been shifted to new and spacious premises on the second floor of the newly constructed building. Library is fully equipped with automation software, Internet facility and a spacious reading room for students and staff as well. Total collection of reading material in library has been increased from 9,900 to 25000 in the last five years. This is in addition to a significant increase in the subscription to National and International level journals and magazines.

Virtual Learning Centre (VLC) is established with the collaboration of Y.C.M.Open University, Nashik. This is done with a total investment of Rs. 10,00,000/-, Rs. 3,00,000/- by the college and Rs.7,00,000/- by the Y.C.M.O University, Nasik, respectively. This is being utilized for the purpose of giving training to students for competitive examinations and for facilitating training activities of primary and secondary school teachers.

Many new facilities like separate gym for boys and girls, Audio Visual cum conference room, H.O.D cabins, separate class rooms for B.Sc IT students, Electronics Lab, Management room etc… have been added to the existing infrastructure .

Additional equipment like LCD projector, latest gym equipment, computers, printers, Fax machine, Xerox machines, AC machines etc… have been purchased with a view to facilitate and support the teaching learning and administration activities in the college.

College has started its web site formally in the year 2010 as per the NAAC guidelines. All the relevant information including AQAR reports sent to NAAC from time to time has been incorporated in the website. Many quality sustaining initiatives like establishment of IQAC, teachers’ self appraisal mechanism, feedback mechanism from students, audio visual lecture mechanism have been strengthened as per the recommendation of NAAC committee.

In order to inculcate and promote research culture, a research centre in Hindi has been started in the college premises from the year 2008 onwards. Faculty is continuously prodded to take up research activities, which resulted in the increase of no. of M.Phil and Ph.D holders. Faculty is deputed to national and international level seminars and conferences so as to encourage them towards research activities. Non-teaching staff is encouraged and trained to make use of office automation software so as to make administration easy and effective. Academic calendar and exam schedules are planned and followed meticulously in line with the university guidelines.

An N.C.C unit started functioning in the college formally, as per the recommendation made by the previous NAAC Peer Committee, from the year 2010 onwards giving a boost to the already existing strong social and community service activities through our N.S.S units.

Many UGC merged schemes are being implemented benefiting both students and staff as well. All out efforts are made to provide more and more financial assistance to students in whatever way possible so as to the education accessible to them. A Women’s Hostel, with UGC assistance, is under construction which has the capacity to accommodate 72 girl students. Once completed, this will prove to be of great help in mitigating the difficulties of girl students coming from far flung areas of Shahapur Taluka to pursue education in our college. While making systematic and dedicated efforts to achieve our vision, our emphasis will be on making these efforts reflect the core values of NAAC in the field of higher education i.e., making education to foster the values of National Integration, Social Sensitivity, Global Orientation and Market Orientation etc…in the young minds of students.

Vision

To make our college an ideal platform for providing higher education, thereby retaining its leading position in Shahapur taluka and aspire to reach for the leading position in the field of higher education in Thane district of Maharashtra over a period of time.
